CPD & Networking
Providers of essential networking and learning opportunities for those providing CEIAG at schools, colleges and training provider organisations across Yorkshire and the Humber.
The Shine team are commited to helping those with career responsibilities keep up to date with the careers landscape. They are actively involved in two key networking and educational opportunities that are available free of charge to all those with responsibility for CEIAG in the education sector.
Careers Live is a bi-annual conference organised by aspire-igen and the Shine team. The last conference in 2017 was fully booked, with Robert Halfon, the then Minister for Aprenticeship and Skills being one of the keynote speakers, and gained excellent feedback.
For schools and colleges working with CEIAG providers and Senior Managers in Education, Careers Live is an opportunity to engage with leading thinkers in the sector about what the future holds. The 2017 conference reviewed how CEIAG policy was being implemented, reflected with Ofsted about careers education in the Common Inspection Framework and what they consider 'good' careers education and looked at what more could be done to improve quality in CEIAG design and delivery.
The date has now been set for the 2019 conference - Tuesday 19th March. Click here for further details and to register.
On the back of the success of Careers Live, the Careers Live IAG Network @ Bradford was created. This is organised by the Shine Careers Service, working with the Local Enterprise Partnership and Bradford Pathways. The agenda and themes are set by the network and include practical themed workshops and regular updates on the CEIAG agenda and Bradford's Education Covenant.
The meetings are open to:
Schools - Headteachers and Principals, Senior Leaders, Heads of Careers, Heads of Sixth Form, PHSE Leads, Governors with career responsibilities
Colleges & Universities - Principals, Careers Leads, Careers Advisers
Learning Providers - Those with CEIAG responsibility in the organisation
We also co-host the Leeds IAG group and are actively involved in 6 others across the region.
