The implementation of gender mainstreaming for the promotion of equal opportunities in the labour market is a declared objective in European labour policy.
Qualification and guidance programmes increasingly require the integration of an explicit gender mainstreaming dimension in the design of their projects and in vocational qualification and guidance measures. There is also a considerable lack of specific training methods and materials building balanced relationships between women and men. Furthermore, EU candidate countries need to adapt their vocational guidance and qualification systems, whereas at the same time, they can contribute their experience in providing equal opportunities for women and men.
The project created a network promoting the European dimension and co-operation in the assessment of gender mainstreaming strategies, methods and materials to act as a valuable platform for vocational qualification and guidance organisations, counsellors and for other actors in this field at national and transnational levels.
