HMRC show their appreciation for Goole
HMRC are closing down their office in Hull in 2019/20 and over the last year and a half the National Careers Service team in Goole have been supporting them with training and presentation events for their staff. This month Janet Morriss and Sarah Stone were invited to attend their event at the new Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Hull.
The email below from HMRC shows their appreciation of our support - well done to Sarah and Janet!
Hi Sarah & Janet,
It was lovely to meet you both yesterday.
Thank you so much for supporting our ‘Preparing For Your Future’ event in Hull yesterday, I really appreciate that you were willing to give your time to support so many of the HMRC staff. Your stall was extremely busy and the verbal feedback I have received is excellent, your contribution was certainly valued by everyone.
You both had a real sense of understanding re the situation we face in HMRC (Hull) and that means so much.
Hopefully I will see you both at any further events we hold.
The Opportunity Centre opens its doors for Employability Day
On 29th June, our Opportunity Centre in Hull had an open day for the general public, professionals and referral agencies to come and take a look at the range of services we have to help people improve their employability skills and achieve their career potential. Lots of people came along and it was great to get the chance to let people see how they can access all of our resources.
Staff at the Hull Opportunity Centre baked, donated and ate for Cupcake Day in June, raising money for the Alzheimer's Society. After two days of the Opportunity Centre smelling amazing and sending the staff into a cake frenzy, they raised £100.16 for this great cause.
Michelle Peacock, Employment & Skills Manager in Hull said "its great to see the team take their own initiative and propose ways in which the team can come together and raise funds for a very worth while charity. Thank you team".
Well done to everyone involved, especially to Lauren Dingley who organised the whole event.
Some of our aspire2work Military Prep learners were photographed saluting and paying tribute to the British Armed Forces for a social media campaign to celebrate Armed Forces Day. They definitely look the part! To find out more about the Military Prep course, take a look at our website http://www.aspire-igen.com/products/army-preparation
