NEWT4S visit Bradford
At the end of May, aspire-international welcomed partners from Portugal, Italy, France and Belgium to Bradford as part of their NewT4S project. This project aims to promote the exchange of methods, best practices and tools to enhance the provision of work-based training across Europe.
NewT4S is also a first for aspire-international as it is a French language project, which meant that they had chance to practise their linguistic stills during the visit, where the importance of diversity was discussed.
They were extremely thankful that Catering and Hospitality Tutor Katie Jenkins could join them across the two-day meeting to shed light on the various training programmes offered at The Opportunity Centre. Partners were particularly impressed by the links between the Catering and Hospitality course and the Canteen and even got to sample a lunch prepared by our learners.
Join us at Stand Out in a Global Market 2018
We are delighted to announce that our Stand Out in a Global Market event series will be back for a 5thyear this autumn!
Once again the aspire-international team are partnering with their colleagues from Eurodesk to run events in Birmingham (23rd October at the MAC) and Leeds (14th November at the St George’s Centre). These events are designed to inspire students to kick start their careers by gaining experience abroad. Attendees will receive an insight into the range of opportunities available to study, work and volunteer abroad and the benefits of undertaking such an experience. The events will feature a mixture of presentations and workshops and will cover a range of topics including studying in Europe, working abroad, and taking a gap year. Look out for more details about these events in the coming months.
Farewell Emma, Welcome Michael!
The aspire-international team say goodbye this month to Emma Campbell who has been helping out for the last few months with research and administrative support. Emma was a massive part of our recent success in organising the Euroguidance meeting and we wish her the best of luck as she goes travelling around Europe for the summer.
We have welcomed new Project Officer Michael Miller to the team – he has studied in America and worked in Russia, so is looking forward to continuing his international experiences by joining them!
