Looking forward to National Careers Week 2019!
25 February, 2019
National Careers Week (NCW) is a celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK, taking place from 4th to 9th March.
As specialists in education and careers guidance and information, as you would expect, we love the chance to join in the celebrations!
We have a number of activities that will be taking place throughout the week. These are typical of the kind of things we organise throughout the year – every week is careers week for us at aspire-igen!
Students from across all our centres on the aspire2work programme will have the opportunity to engage with employers and visit premises to see how some of the skills and knowledge they have learnt in the classroom is put into practice. Students on the Health & Social care course in Bradford will be visiting Anchor Care Homes while other students visit the Contact Centre IT and Customer Service division. Our motor vehicle maintenance students are really looking forward to visiting JCT600. Students in Hull will be going to Hull City Council who will be talking to them about apprenticeships and they will also have a site visit to Welcome to Yorkshire. Thank you to all the employers who are offering such valuable insights to our students.
As well as this, our Shine Careers team will be hosting careers sessions across all centres to help students progress towards a great career.
Our Engagement team will also be out and about across the region talking to young people about their career opportunities and the vocational courses available on the aspire2work programme. They’ll be at the Leeds College of Building Open Event, Apprenticeship events in Barnsley, Huddersfield and Leeds and will also be exhibiting at Skills Humber on 5th and 6th March.
Take a look at the rest of our website to read more about how we support young people and adults with their careers and training.
Visit the National Careers Week website to see how you can get involved. Whatever you do to celebrate – we hope you have a happy National Careers Week!
