Excitement builds as Bradford Manufacturing Week draws near!
21 September, 2018
Aspire-igen is delighted to be supporting Bradford Manufacturing Week, organised by West & North Yorkshire Chamber and backed by the newly-formed Bradford Economic Partnership (Read more about Bradford Manufacturing Week here). We have had a fantastic response so far from Bradford schools.
The week is fast approaching (8-12 October) and there are lots of exciting activities for students of Bradford district schools to get involved in.
We were pleased to host a ‘Getting to know you’ event at the event space in our Bradford Opportunity Centre recently. There was a real buzz in the air with schools looking forward to hearing about how their pupils can get a fantastic insight into the manufacturing sector in our area which has so many opportunities.
Schools already signed up to participate had the opportunity to meet with employers such as Airedale Chemicals, Christeyns Ltd, John Binns & sons (Springs Ltd), Pennine Pneumatic Services Ltd and Nufarm plus many more and start to build relationships with local businesses that we hope will flourish once Manufacturing Week has finished.
Two of the sponsors Duncan Firman, Partner at Gordons LLP and Victoria Wainwight from Naylors Wintersgill spoke about why they are sponsoring the event and delegates also heard from Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe and Nick Garthwaite from Bradford Chamber, who has spearheaded Bradford Manufacturing Week.
We have already started matching schools and employers and this will be done on a first come first serve basis – schools that are signed up are encouraged to submit their choices as soon as possible.
