EX-ASPIRE2WORK LEARNER GETS BOOK PUBLISHED!
06 August, 2018
Abu was a student with aspire2work in the 16/17 academic year, completing our Health and Social care, GCSE English Language and Functional Skills Math courses.
In lessons, Abu was a hard-working learner. He always tried his best, he was eager to learn and willing to push himself to achieve. Even when he was ill he didn't miss a single day of English. As a person, Abu is caring and considerate; he truly believes in doing the 'right thing', holding dearly to his morals and faith.
Since leaving us, he has gone onto college and had various complications with his courses - however, that has not stopped him from striving forward. Despite all of his set backs, he has pushed himself and created a great book of affirmations, motivational quotes and poems from his role models, social media and his own words of wisdom. He touches upon topics such as love and heartbreak, to life and mental health.
Abu created the book in an attempt to raise morale and positivity. He published the book with Amazon which sells for £10. As with any publisher, a certain percentage is taken. After retaining some profit, he has decided that all remaining proceedings will go to charity, as he believes there are others far more in need than him.
Abu's tutor, Seona McLinden said "I taught Abu myself last year and I am extremely proud of how far he has come. He was a pleasure to teach; it is even more so to see him flourish. I look forward to seeing what else he could accomplish."
A quote from his book says: "Every action you do, do it wholeheartedly. Put effort in, so at the end of it, you can be proud of what you've achieved."
Well done Abu - what an amazing achievement, you are truly inspirational!
