Bradford learners to host Macmillan coffee morning
09 September, 2019
On Friday 27th of September, The Canteen will host a Macmillan coffee morning.
Learners aged 16-19 on the aspire2work Catering and Hospitality course will serve delicious home made treats and drinks. They will host the whole event, providing them with a taste and insight into events management and customer service. All proceeds will be donated to Macmillan.
The Canteen and adjoining Cookery school was established to encourage young people into the catering and hospitality industry, combining qualifications with practical training sessions. Learners are also able to develop their skills by helping the team cater for meetings and events held in aspire-igen’s Event Space.
The coffee morning will begin at 9.00am and run until 11.30am.
Ahead of the event, Catering and Hospitality Manager Joe Grant said “If you like cake with a feel good factor then you can’t get better than this. Not only will the proceeds go to a fantastic cause, the skills used to prepare for and host this event can be used as evidence for our students to progress in their qualification.”
“From the moment you're diagnosed, through your treatment and beyond, Macmillan are right there with you, offering emotional, physical and financial support. I encourage everyone to come and support this worthy cause and enjoy this coffee morning with The Canteen.”
