Aspire-igen secures funding for new NEET projects
20 February, 2019
We are delighted to have been successful in securing funding for new programmes in the Leeds City Region and Humber LEP areas. The new programmes are called Accelerate and are funded by the European Structural & Investment Fund and the Education & Skills Funding Agency. Accelerate aims to work with young people 15 to 24 years, at risk of and already NEET to increase their skills, confidence and ability to progress into Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Education and Employment. The programmes are closely aligned with Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Skills Plans and will be delivered in schools and community settings.
When joining Accelerate, participants will be worked with on an individual basis, needs assessed and given a tailored plan to follow. They’ll be given IAG sessions and provided with career pathways to consider based on their skills and interests and will also have the opportunity to take part in non-accredited training and activities. Work experience will be a key deliverable of the programme, with a broad range of local employers engaged to prepare the young people for the world of work.
Delivery will take place in York, Craven, Harrogate, Selby, Wakefield and Calderdale and across the Humber.
Accelerate will run for 3 years and we look forward to working closely with a wide range of stakeholders to support young people to take full advantage of the opportunities for leaning and work in their local areas.
