23 June, 2017

We’re really pleased to announce that, hot on the heels of winning 'Director of the Year' in the not for profit category at the Yorkshire Business Leaders Awards 2017, our Chief Executive, Caroline, was presented with the 'Most Supportive Business Promoting Diversity & Citizenship' award for aspire-igen at the Barclays Yorkshire Celebrating Women in Business Awards 2017!

The ceremony took place on 23rd June and recognises women who have made an outstanding contribution to business in the Yorkshire region. This is a fabulous achievement for Caroline and we're proud that aspire-igen's work to promote diversity & citizenship has been rewarded.

All of the judges agreed that Caroline is an inspiration, helping tens of thousands of people every year to improve their lives through learning and work. Caroline is credited with establishing aspire-igen as a vibrant and successful company.

Rachel Reeves MP, who attended the awards, said: “There are now a record number of women in Parliament after the General Election, but just like the world of politics, the business world has much to do when it comes to giving women a fair deal.

Boardrooms are still dominated by men and the pay gap between men and women remains unacceptably wide.

I hope these awards will encourage more women to become entrepreneurs and future business leaders who change that for good. These awards are an excellent chance for business women from across Yorkshire to network, share ideas and knowledge. Celebrating their achievements is an important way we can mark the success of women in business today and the future successes that I am sure will follow.”

Well done Caroline!
